A fabulous song based on a Tamil song composed by Illayaraja, this is infinitely more soulful than the original - a long long time ago I used to have a quite close non Indian friend - and this was the ONLY Indian song she liked :P, initially of course for the music and the singing but the word were also meaningful - hence the memories :D
