You'll Never Walk Alone - Gerry and the Pacemakers, Liverpool FC

Posted by Nerdyy

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.

In days long gone, I used to be an avid soccer fan (this was pre-92, of course) - and something that I was always intrigued by the singing by fans, especially in European soccer. This is the most famous football anthem originally performed by Gerry and the Pacemakers, made famous primarily by fans of Liverpool FC but other clubs as well.

In life we make many friends, and sometimes flippantly we use the term BFF to describe some, maybe as a platitude, maybe to convince ourselves that there is indeed a "forever friend" when it may not really be true. However, if we are really lucky, sometimes a friend is truly a forever friend. The words of this song encapsulates the forever.
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone.
