In A Country Far Far Away ...
Nerdyy's dad decides to gift Nerdyy,then a precocious kid, with a radio. For a kid in India in the 70s, a transistor radio was a pretty fabulous thing to possess. The objective according to my dad was to listen to a general knowledge quiz show called Bournvita Quiz Contest, and enhance my intellectual capacity :D. Well - as all my friends who know me can attest, telling me to do something usually results in me doing something very different. Away from my parents eyes and ears, I turned the radio dial to Vividh Bharati which was a hindi music channel that was sponsored by advertisers. The first few songs that I heard didnt really do anything and I was about to give up on Hindi film music. Until one day I came across this song playing - and I never left :D
Starting a blog about music, food, all things economics, politics and gardening, I couldn't start with any other post than about one of my favorite songs of all time.
:D Haha welcome pls :) I thought my hi-fi stereo was the bomb also, I thought I was super cool putting those vinyl discs on and listening away :P And then I was gifted an alarm clock-radio and that's when I really thought I was cool :D And this song is one of those even when you hear it now it's like ... there isn't as much of that 'gap' somehow.. this song and others like aapki nazron (nevermind that perhaps them being remixed into newer-day tracks had something to do with that...) WELCOME MY FRIEND :D well, welcome to welcoming US to your home :)
